The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has purchased a second round of advertising aimed at influencing the fall elections. The ads will target 20 House contests and total $18 million. Earlier this month, the organization announced that it would spend $35 million on TV ads directed at 31 races across the country, including Minnesota’s Third District contest between Ashwin Madia (pictured) and Erik Paulsen.
The DCCC’s second wave of advertising doesn’t include any Minnesota seats. Notably missing are the Second and Sixth District races. Both Democratic challengers, Steve Sarvi and Elwyn Tinklenberg, were added to the organization’s list of "emerging races" last month. Sarvi is seeking to knock of three-term incumbent John Kline, who has won his last two elections by 16 percentage points. Tinklenberg is looking to oust freshman Rep. Michele Bachmann, whom RealClearPolitics recently labeled one of the most endangered legislators in the country.
